"i know, bean, your dad is being so rude right now," she told her stomach when she felt the baby move which caused her to shift a little. she was pretty far into this pregnancy now, but the feeling of having bean move around was still something that caught her off guard sometimes. it was also the coolest feeling in the world and even though it wasn't supposed to happen now, karlie was glad that she was experiencing it with bean. her ears, along with the dogs that surrounded her's ears, perked up when the front door opened and the familiar chatter of junior and cristiano started to drift towards the kitchen. "hola chicos!" she greeted, leaning down to kiss junior on the head and straightening back up again to press a kiss onto her husband's cheek. "i have an activity for you both of you this way," she told them as she helped junior out of his backpack and put it on the kitchen island before leading them into the living room in a very determined way. when they arrived in the living room, she waved her hands vana white style over the coffee table. the video game controllers and coffee table books had been replaced with two boxes of white legos for the both of them. "i'm going to need the two of you to build me a tower and we're going to see which one is the better one before we go to the next part of the surprise. ready? set. go!" karlie just smiled when they looked at her before going to sit down on the couch to watch them do the task at hand. she already knew that this was a kind of silly way to tell them the news, but she hoped they'd at least enjoy it a little. if someone had told her last year that'd she'd be pregnant with her first child who would be the fourth of her family she would have denied it. this was not how the plan was supposed to go, but she wouldn't have changed where she was for anything. it was stressful and tiring taking care of two babies while baking one and making sure that junior felt loved and important still AND balancing a work life with a personal life and trying to be a good wife to cristiano. it was probably more stressful than when she was trying to balance being a teengar and school, but it was worth the lack of sleep and the bouts of being miserable sitting at home not being able to work when that had been her life for so long it was odd for her not to have it now. she came out of her thoughts when she felt junior poke her in the knee and looked at their towers from her spot on the couch. "excellent. now carefully pick those up and follow me," she said after a small groan as she pushed herself off of the couch and taking a second to make sure she was balanced. the last thing she needed to do was be her clumsy self and fall on bean. their activity took the three of them to one of the guest rooms that karlie stepped in front of the door to make sure she got into it before they did. when she opened the door, it was revealed that she had gotten it painted and decorated differently from what it had originally been. inside the walls were gray and the furniture was gray and white with pink accents scattered around the room. "i figured since bean is going to be a girl, you guys could practice building towers to put her and eva in so no one comes and hurts them. since i know that's what at least one of you was planning on doing anyway." |
